Dr. Li Lin is the academic leader in "Cartography and Geography Information System", which is one of the state-level key disciplines and specialties. He has mainly engaged in research and teaching in GIS and computer cartography, having completed multiple scientific research projects above provincial and ministerial-level, having won numerous awards for scientific research projects. With a view to theoretical researches on GIS, Dr. Li Lin has put forward dimension issues regarding GIS space targets. With a view to application, he has proposed and tested the macroscopic urban land & spatial expansion dynamical model. With a view to digital mapping, he has developed the "map design & production software system", which is a key project of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation during the Ninth Five-Year Plan. Dr. Li Lin has been making a research on digital mapping model, geographic information-portrayal, geoinformatics ontology model, electronic map & vehicle location monitoring and vehicle navigation geoinformatics system, etc.
